I use javascripts.com which is a compilation of user submitted scripts. You can read what they do and try it out via the site with their examples. They also tell you browser compatibility because as we all know the firefox, opera, IE, etc don't like being compatible with all scripts.

Give it a try I love it

I've been using it for quite a while now, and the site is really helpful indeed.

Mostly i read from other scripts etc. Javascripts.com isnt that great a place to learn it from though. I suggest books from the library. I don't see it being used that much these days but i still love it.

Well, books for the library are usually pretty outdated, right?

I think the internet is the best resource for learning new languages.

I use the internet too. Not major libraries. I use the Los Angeles Downtown Library they have books as recent as last month in the library. If you put in a request they sometimes purchase the book too.

Learning from programming books is great. It gives you some time off your monitor Smile.

I think viewing the computer monitor is actually better for your eyes than reading small print books. My eyes started going when I was young, but my vision has basically been the same for the past 12 years, and that includes probably an average of 8-10 hours a day on some sort of computer over that time.
